Prevent the Aftermath is a non-profit 501(c)(3). Donations go directly towards:
  1. Prevent the Aftermath’s operational costs;
  2. Reducing or eliminating the registration costs to train, police, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders to help proactively prevent active shooter violence, and;
  3. May be used to provide grants to community mental health organizations and smaller to mid-sized police departments across the country that lack the tools and resources they need to train, implement best practice strategies, and/or purchase equipment and supplies.

No. Prevent the Aftermath does not share or sale any donor information to third party businesses or group. There is an option where we can add you to a distribution list to receive (but not be inundated by) emails that will update you on our accomplishments, milestones, and research.

Prevent the Aftermath was formed by mental health, law enforcement, and legal experts to help identify the best ways to recognize, assess, and potentially stop active shooter violence BEFORE it occurs. Prevent the Aftermath also provides grant funding to community mental health organizations and police departments across the country to help them operate in service to their respective communities. Our Articles of Incorporation are posted on our website for the public to see.

Operational costs include administrative-related necessities such as maintaining the website, costs to host training, and logistical and payment costs to for subject matter experts for their research and instruction. At this time Prevent the Aftermath does not have any paid staff. All Board members are working at no cost for the organization.
Unfortunately, no. Prevent the Aftermath does look for partners to help spread the word about our mission as well as what we offer communities to help keep them safe from active shooter violence.
At this time, we are not looking for volunteers. If you are interested in staying current on our efforts to reduce active shooter violence, please join our email distribution list.
No. Prevent the Aftermath works with all people, leaders, and officials to find proactive ways to prevent active shooter violence, and to support community mental health agencies and law police departments. Prevent the Aftermath may partner with research-based organizations to accomplishment its mission.
